Illinois: Italian Beef

I kicked off my Stately Sandwich project with Illinois because, as my newest state of residence, it has been a constant source of inspiration.
My sister, Colleen, and I did some very important research at Portillo’s just to be sure we knew how delicious Italian beef sandwiches are.
The recipe was rather simple but took a while because the meat had to be prepared just right. Even without a meat slicer these sandwiches were incredible. And not just because I said so, I had a group of official taste testers who are now quite invested in my progress.
